About the ITIL AI Governance Course
ITIL AI Governance is the only extension module within the ITIL (Version 5) qualification scheme. This course is designed for professionals and business leaders who need to adopt AI responsibly, ethically, and in line with compliance obligations. It focuses on the governance needed to move from AI awareness to value-driven outcomes, without exposing the organisation to avoidable risk. Covering context, drivers, risks, opportunities and practical steps to embed AI governance, the module addresses transparency, accountability, risk management and regulatory considerations.
The ITIL AI Governance White Paper provides a practical playbook for embedding effective AI governance into corporate structures, enabling organisations to capture the benefits of AI responsibly and sustainably.
When will this course be available?

ITIL Version 5 Qualification Scheme
The ITIL (Version 5) qualification scheme has nine core modules and one extension module. ITIL Foundation is the beginning course, and the certification is a pre-requisite for the eight advanced modules.
There are three learning streams, each leading to a professional designation:
- ITIL Practice Manager (Version 5)
- ITIL Managing Professional (Version 5)
- ITIL Strategic Leader (Version 5)
The ITIL AI Governance certification is only extension module within the ITIL (Version 5).
