The Change Management Certification program has been developed by APMG International in partnership with the Change Management Institute – a global, independent, not-for-profit association committed to the creation, evolution and promotion of professional standards in change management.
Our Change Management Foundation course prepares you for the exam leading to the Change Management Foundation Certification.
This 3-day course is held in our virtual classroom with our expert instructor, meaning you can join the class and network with your peers from anywhere with an internet connection.
Course Overview
Our Change Management course is designed to help organisations and their people manage the impact of change and provide techniques to effectively plan and implement successful transformation initiatives.
Based on the Effective Change Manager's Handbook - aligned to the Institute's Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK), our courses explore how change affects, and is affected by, individuals, teams, organisations and change leaders, equipping individuals with the knowledge, theories and techniques to:
- Unlock resistance to change
- Provide effective support and motivation to individuals and teams to embrace change
- Draw from a range of professional approaches to implement change smoothly and effectively
- Manage and inform key stakeholders throughout the change process
- Speed up the implementation of change initiatives
- Realise the benefits of projects, programs and other change initiatives.
Successful candidates will have the knowledge and understanding necessary to contribute constructively to teams specifying, developing, implementing and sustaining change initiatives.
Learning Outcomes
Upon their successful completion of the course, attendees will have the knowledge to:
- Explain how individuals are impacted by change, different ways they may respond to change situations and how learning processes help them adapt.
- Contribute to development of strategies to help individuals through change, increasing motivation for change and overcoming resistance in order to achieve desired outcomes.
- Offer insights on how organisations work, how the process of organisational change occurs and the typical roles that collaborate to deliver successful change.
- Identify key drivers of an organisation’s culture, and recognise different types of change process (e.g. planned and emergent change).
- Describe significant elements of the stakeholder engagement process in a change initiative, and relate this to appropriate communications strategies.
- Discuss with colleagues the different areas of impact of a change initiative, and how momentum for that change can be built and sustained.
- Outline important aspects of how to build an effective change team, and to contribute to discussions about how to improve the effectiveness of a team

- Professionals pursuing the Change Management Practitioner certificate – for which the Change Management Foundation certificate is a pre-requisite.

No prerequisites are required.
Exam & Certification
This course prepares participants for the examination leading to Change Management Foundation certificate, granted by APMG International:
- Exam is 40 minutes; closed book
- Four sections, 50 multiple-choice questions (a passing score of 50% – 25 correct answers - is required
- You will receive an exam voucher for the web-based exam, to be scheduled after the course.
- Upon passing your exam a digital badge will be awarded by APMG International.
Course Material & Inclusions
This course comes with access to our e-materials. Material for this course will be provided as downloadable soft-copy files that can be viewed on a variety of devices. Attendees may print a hard copy of the files in whatever format best meets their needs.
Our virtual instructor-led classes include a $25 lunch voucher for each day (value of $75 for this 3-day course), this means you can get your lunch organised whether you do it from home or the office. The voucher is provided via email on the first morning of the course.
Change Management Foundation online exam voucher, this is issued from APMG International (global examination body) on the first morning of the course. The schedule is available 24/7 so you can book and register for your exam at a time that suits. A webcam and internet connection is required.
1 x Change Management Foundation exam re-sit if you fail your first attempt.
A digital badge you can share with your network will be provided via email upon passing your certification exam with APMG.
